Lead Teacher Pre-K – Four Corners Early Learning Center – Cumberland, RI

The Four Corners Early Learning Center, part of the YMCA of Pawtucket, is hiring for a Lead Pre-K Teacher.

 

This position is full time. The responsibilities are, but not limited to:
Under the guidance of the Preschool Director/ Educational Coordinator, the Lead Teacher shall have the responsibility for the overall operation of the assigned classroom. The Lead Teacher insures that the classroom maintains the standards of instruction that are developmentally appropriate and consistent with curriculum frameworks for the age group of the classroom. The Teacher shares in the vision of the center and supports the mission of the YMCA of Pawtucket.

 

Entry Requirements:
The Lead Teacher shall have an AA or BA Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field from an accredited college or university and hold a Level 2 Early Learning Standard Certificate or complete RIELDS certificate (Foundations and Curriculum or Classroom) within one year of hire. The Lead Teacher must have at least three month’s experience in a licensed program. The Lead Teacher must be at least 21 years of age, have a valid driver's license and have the ability to obtain certification in CPR and First Aid. The Lead Teacher must be able to effectively communicate orally and in writing with staff and parents and be able to develop rapport with young children. The Lead Teacher must meet DCYF, Bright Stars, and YMCA employment qualifications.

 

Job Requirements:
Classroom Operation
The Lead Teacher has the responsibility for the smooth operation of the assigned classroom. The Lead Teacher maintains a level of professional conduct that embraces good work ethics and punctuality. Included in the responsibility are the following functions:· Establish a warm and professional rapport with all children in the classroom· Maintain health and safety standards in the classroom and throughout the building· Develop and maintain a daily schedule, Implement daily lessons that follow the developed plan· Maintain age appropriate learning centers in the classroom· Maintain accurate attendance records and point of service documentation· Implement curriculum that promotes age appropriate activities using RI Early Learning and Development Standards· Support and participate in enrichment activities such as field trips that support child development· Ensure that the teacher assistants understands the plan for the day and can be supportive to the needs of the children· In a timely manner notify supervisor or administrator in charge of any health and safety issues that need attention.


Classroom Planning
The Lead Teacher is responsible for the overall planning of the classroom and the assessment of the children in the classroom. Include in the responsibility are the following functions:· Development of weekly lesson plans that are age appropriate and based upon RIELDS· Prepare reports and conduct parent conferences/ reports at least four times per year· Actively participate in the transition of children into or out of the classroom· Write daily/weekly reports to parents depending upon age of child· Support the scheduling and implementation of yearly screenings as determined by the Preschool Director· Support the referral of children to special education or early intervention services as needed· Maintain behavioral documentation as needed for individual children· Recommend areas of improvement to the program supervisor as needed.


Supervision
The Lead Teacher has day-to-day supervision responsibilities of the classroom and the classroom aides and teacher assistants. Included in the responsibility are the following functions:

The Four Corners Early Learning Center, a part of the YMCA of Pawtucket, is hiring for a full time Teacher's Assistant.


General Function:
Under the guidance of the Preschool Director, the TA shall have the responsibility to assist the Teacher Assistant in the operation of the assigned classroom. The TA supervises groups of children and follows specified classroom plans and activities that are developmentally appropriate. The TA shares in the vision of the center and supports the mission of the YMCA of the USA.


Entry Requirements:
The Teacher Assistant shall a High School diploma or a GED from an approved program. The Teacher Assistant must meet the qualification for teacher assistant. RIELDS Foundations sand Curriculum or Classroom certifications must be obtained within two years of hire. The Teacher Assistant must have at least one year's experience in a center-based program, be at least 18 years of age and be able to obtain certification in First Aid and CPR. The Teacher Assistant must be able to effectively communicate orally and in writing with staff and parents and be able to develop rapport with young children. The TA must meet DCYF and YMCA employment qualifications.

Toddler Teacher Early Head Start – Heritage Park YMCA – Pawtucket, RI

The YMCA of Pawtucket, Heritage Park Early Childhood Center is hiring for a Toddler Teacher for early head start. The Toddler Teacher, under the guidance of the Preschool Director/Educational Coordinator, shall have the responsibility for the overall operation of the assigned classroom. The Toddler Teacher insures that the classroom maintains the standards of instruction that are developmentally appropriate and consistent with curriculum frameworks for the age group of the classroom. The Lead Teacher shares in the vision of the center and supports the mission of the YMCA of the USA. The pay range is $13.45 to $15.25 based on experience.


Entry Requirements:
The Lead Teacher shall have a minimum of Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education and acquisition of Infant/Toddler CDA and hold a Level 2 Early Learning Certificate or obtain RIELDS certificate (Foundations and Classroom or Curriculum) within one year of hire. The Lead Teacher must have at least three months’ experience in a licensed approved program. The Lead Teacher must be at least 21 years of age, have a valid driver's license and have the ability to obtain certification in CPR and First Aid. The YMCA of Pawtucket Four Corners Early Learning Center is hiring for part time Teacher Assistants!  The Teacher Assistant shall have the responsibility to assist in the operation of the assigned classroom. The TA supervises groups of children and follows specified classroom plans and activities that are developmentally appropriate. The TA shares in the vision of the center and supports the mission of the YMCA of the USA.
The hourly rate ranges between $9.60-$10.45 based on experience. The shifts: 6:30-9:30am, 12:30-6:00pm, and 3:00-6:00pm.

School Aged Child Care Site Director – MacColl YMCA – Lincoln, RI

The School Aged Child Care Site Director is responsible for the overall management and supervision of the school age child care site and will plan, lead, and evaluate group experiences. This position operates at a specific school age site.  We are looking for someone to provides high quality recreational experiences for children that focus on the YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.

Afterschool Child Care Counselors – MacColl YMCA – Lincoln, RI

The Afterschool childcare counselor is responsible for the daily supervision of after-school program participants grades K-8. S/he is responsible for assisting in the planning, development, and implementation of program components and program activities in the after-school program. The Leader guides the academic and social development of children; ensuring a safe, enriching, and healthy learning environment. Group Leaders use a variety of resources, provided by the After-School Site Director to introduce new skills throughout the execution of activities. To accomplish this, Afterschool Childcare Counselors are required to participate in 20 hours of DCYF approved professional development and planning sessions with the After-School Site Director on a scheduled basis.
